For over seventy years, Coffin Turbo Pumps have set the standard for quality and reliability in steam driven boiler feed pumps. From the company's origin in the 1920's as a supplier of ultra compact boiler feed pumps in railroad locomotives, to today, as the premier manufacturer of marine boiler feed pumps installed on technologically advanced LNG carriers, Coffin Turbo Pump, Inc. remains the worlds recognized leader for marine boiler feed pumps. Our customer list includes most of the largest shipyards and oil companies in the world, such as Exxon, Petrobras, Shell Oil, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Chantiers De Atlantique, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kvaerner Masa-Yards and Newport News Shipbuilding to name a few. Coffin possesses the technical capability to design and manufacture products to meet the most challenging applications. Leveraging off this unparalleled success in the marine industry, Coffin has also installed many units in industrial settings including hospitals, paper and lumber mills, refineries, petrochemical and cogeneration plants and waste to energy facilities. These customers have found that the same combination of quality, reliability, parts and service, competitive price and other unique features which have made the Coffin name synonymous with boiler feed pumps in the marine industry, are also applicable to land based installations. Recently, Coffin has expanded its line of pumps to include equipment qualified to military specification 901D, the U.S. Navy's stringent requirement for shock testing. With only minor design modifications, the standard commerical design was upgraded and not only passed the shock test, but it was immediately specified by the Navy to replace a line of older, flexible coupled feed pumps on a class of U.S. Navy combatant vessels. This teamwork of Coffin pump design, manufacturing and test engineers, working closely with the U.S. Navy, typifies the type of performance that all of Coffin's customers have come to expect.
