History Corporate Structure Ownership Belden Shipping Pte Ltd was incorporated 7th March 1997. The company's focus is to serve the sea-way transportation requirement of the cement industry. The company has built up extensive commercial and technical expertise in the field of cement transportation and cement handling. Belden Shipping now ranks among the largest cement carrier owners in the world, measured in deadweight tonnage and the company serves a range of multinational cement companies as well as smaller independent producers and receivers. Milestones MV Glory Ocean was purchased by Belden in January 2004 from Malayan Cement (Lafarge), Malaysia. The vessel was chartered to Transatlantic Cement Carriers Inc. on a 1 year charter. MV Glory Sky was purchased by Belden in August 2003 from Malayan Cement (Lafarge), Malaysia. The vessel was chartered to Sunbulk Shipping, NV (Cemex) on a 2 year charter. The bulk ship MV Glory Credo was purchased by Belden in January 2003 from Rederi AB Donsotank, Sweden. The vessel is presently trading in the spot market. MV Glory Moon was purchased by Belden in 2002 from Geden Lines, Turkey. The vessel was chartered to HC Trading on a 2 years charter. MV Glory Sun was purchased by Belden in 2001 from Weltrans, Taiwan. The vessel was chartered to Apo Cement Corporation on a 5 years charter. MV Alcem Calaca and MV Alcem Lugait were converted by Aboitiz/Jebsen in 1999 on the basis of 10 years contracts with Alsons Cement Corporation. The vessels were purchased by Belden in January 2001 and new contracts with Alsons Cement Corp were signed. MV Glory Star was purchased by Belden in 2000 from Weltrans, Taiwan. The vessel was chartered back to Weltrans on a 5 years charter. MV Red Sea Spirit was converted at Gemak Shipyard, Turkey in 1999 and delivered on a 5 year charter to Jordan Cement Company and Cement Traders Inc of Jordan. The vessel was built to serve the export market from Jordan to the Red Sea region, and the vessel was therfore equipped with a bagging plant on board. The vessel was sold to Cement Traders Inc in 2000. MV Mariana III was purchased in December 1997 from Ta Ho Maritime, a subsidiary of Taiwan Cement Corporation. MV Aro was the first vessel in the Belden fleet. The vessel was converted at Kanda Shipyard, Japan and successfully delivered to Apo Cement Corporation on a 15 year charter contract in 1997.
