Melbourne - Australia Western Bulk Carriers, Australia is the Group's largest operating office outside Oslo - ideally located in the Asia/Pacific region. This allows customers in this fast growing economic zone to trade and communicate with Western Bulk rep's during their normal working hours. The Melbourne office is responsible for the Group's overall activity in the Pacific area and covering a high variety of diversified customers and clients originating from China and Japan to the Indian East Coast. The main task is to maintain the activity in the area and develop new business to enhance the overall performance of the 'round-the-world service'. Furtermore the office is responsible for all vessels in and out of Australia as well as managing the Australasian end of the Western Bulk Lumber Service, which operates a regular semi-liner service from the U.S. West Coast and Canada. The Melbourne office has a heavy emphasis on the fertiliser trades, making Western Bulk one of the largest carrier of inbound and coastal fertilisers on the Australian market.
