Odessa Maritime Agency "Interbroker" the first Ukrainian Company in the industry was founded in 1990. A highly successful start and good worldwide contacts have made it possible for Interbroker to expand into a full shipping agency offering a range of custom-tailored services to the shipowners in the Ukrainian ports. Among our customers are the major European traders/charterers and the leading shipping companies as well. We operate in Odessa (headquarter of the company), branches in Iliyichevsk, Yuzhny, Nikolayev, Dneprobugskiy, Oktyabrskiy, Kherson, Kertch, Mariupol, Berdjansk, Sevastopol, Theodosia, and Novorossiysk. To meet this need the new type of organization was created, engaged from the beginning mainly in the recruitment of ex-soviet seafarers for western shipowners. Presently we operate our own pool of 1800-2000 officers and ratings who has been recruited via "Interbroker" to a number of well known shipping companies. A large proportion of our seafarers has been working with us for over 10 years. They had joined us as cadets and junior officers/engineers to become now captains and chief engineers. All officers are subject to SETS (Seafarer?s Evaluation and Training System) computer test as part of routine procedure (English knowledge and professional competence). Only those who meet good/command of English requirements have real chance for employment. All our Seafarers are certified as per 1978 STCW Convention including 1995 amendments to the STCW. Besides our crew are given additional courses in Training Center of Marine Academy of the Ukraine to improve competence and efficiency. Presently we supply crews for different types of vessels such as container and refer ships, oil/chemical and lpg/lng carriers, lash carriers and multipurpose vessels, tugs and supply/cable line ships. Besides we provide our clients with repair squads whenever it is necessary. Additionally we arrange transit visas, booking air tickets, uniform supply, application forms for flag state documents. Company was certified to ISO 9002 in January 1997 and is regularly checked the conformity to its procedures. Chartering Dept. OMA Interbroker is dealing with export and transit shipments of various dry cargo commodities ex Ukrainian Black Sea ports. Having long-term contracts with a number of local exporters and foreign traders we re involved in following destinations: - Vietnam: regular shipments of various vehicles of C.I.S. origin, machinery, equipments, projects, steels (loading mostly ex Odessa) to HoChiMinh City and Haiphong (in average monthly shipments) - East and West Africa; Red Sea: steels, machinery, vehicles and other commodities to Conacry, Tema, Douala, Luanda, Dar Es Salaam, Mombasa, Djibouti, Port Sudan and other destinations - Mediterranean: steels, paper products, bulk clay, machinery for Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Italy Other worldwide destinations being handled as well on customers demands. In coordination with our Forwarding Dept. and agents in discharging ports we provide wide range of services including liner terms in ports, land deliveries etc. Among wide range of commodities we handle various project materials for export shipments and transit arrangements (including transshipments in Black Sea of Caspian bound machinery and exports to Vietnam). We re always interested to receive positions of ships in Black Sea being open or looking for part cargoes to various destinations.
