The Seascot companies, although registered in London, established their operations in Glasgow in 1988 by incorporation of Seascot Shiptrading, followed three years later by Seascot Ship management. Glasgow was the obvious choice of locations as it is now arguably the western world's ship management capital well endowed with experienced and qualified ship managers and marine engineers and supports a flourishing shipping community providing a stimulating environment and maritime forum. Seascot was formed initially to provide management for the trading house of an international bank with a shipping portfolio. Once established it was but a short step to offer ship management services to other owners. From what has come to be regarded as a small to medium sized company Seascot management services are aimed primarily at the smaller specialist owner who requires a bespoke service with a high level of personal contact and continuity of personnel. Whilst maintaining and expanding their management base, Seascot has diversified its activities Into ship owning, shipbroking, ship conversion, port and harbour dredging. Seascot have associate companies in London Hong Kong and Isle of Man. This brochure briefly summarises services provided by the Seascot companies. Crewing and Training Vessels under Seascot's management are currently manned by British, Hungarian, Polish, Indian and Filipino crews with high levels of continuity particularly amongst senior officers. Seascot will always consider an owners preference as regards crew and once decided will maintain a close contact to encourage a full involvement of officers in the running and management of their ship. To ensure supply of officers in future Seascot currently operate a cadet training programme.
