Nor-Cargo Kirkenes AS was established in 1920 and have served as a major supplier of fuel, construction material and cargo transportation services to the local market for many decades. Today the company is focusing on domestic and international freight forwarding and logistic services as well as acting as ship's agents in the port of Kirkenes. As a partner in the Nor-Cargo system and with a worldwide contact network the ability of offering the best possible transport and logistic solutions to our customers are ensured. Nor-Cargo Kirkenes have well educated and trained staff members with long experience providing professional services and logistic solutions. Our services include sea, road and air transportation covering both international and domestic markets. Located nearby the Russian border our knowledge and services are focused on this market All kind of shipments from overnight express parcel deliveries to large scale project cargo operations are handled. To provide the best possible services tailored logistic solutions are developed together with our customers. Our freight forwarding department are highly specialised in serving ship owners and the Oil & Gas exploration industry operating in the northern Russian and Norwegian seas. The combined passenger and cargo vessels known as "Hurtigruten", totally 13 vessels, sailing between Bergen and Kirkenes are calling Kirkenes every day year around. The cargo capacity on all these vessels is operated by Nor-Cargo and the vessels are important contributors to the general cargo flow in and out from the region. In addition Nor-Cargo's own cargo vessels have weekly sailing's to and from Kirkenes with connections to the major ports in UK and on the European continent. These vessels are capable of handling both general and refrigerated shipments together with containerised, heavy and oversized cargo. All Nor-Cargo vessels are equipped with cranes having lifting capacities between 50 and 70 metric tonnes. The transit time from UK and the European continent is approximately 10 days. Together with Nor-Cargo agents in other national and foreign ports all kinds of sea transportation can be arranged to and from world-wide destinations. Nor-Cargo has regular trucking lines operating on the distance between Kirkenes and the Norwegian capital Oslo together with other major destinations in Norway. From Oslo connections to all other European countries are available. Normal transit time for trucked cargo from central Europe to Kirkenes and vice versa is about 4-5 days. Truck transport to the neighbouring countries Sweden and Finland is also available. Between Kirkenes and the Russian northern city Murmansk, trucks are operating on a daily base. The transit time from Kirkenes to Murmansk by road is normally 5-6 hours. The Kirkenes airport is situated in the Hart of the "Barents region" and makes a natural hub for air cargo shipments in the region. Nor-Cargo Air could provide airfreight services to and from all major international airports Kirkenes have several daily flights with international connections. This also include flights between Kirkenes and Murmansk. From Murmansk destinations all over Russia could be reached. Typical flying distances, in nautical miles, to Kirkenes are as follows Nor-Cargo Kirkenes are licensed to operate the Norwegian electronic data interchange system for customs clearance. This makes quick and timesaving customs clearance for import, export and transit shipments possible. Norway is a member of the European Economic Agreement. Imports from the European union attract preferential duties in Norway provided they are accompanied by the correct paperwork. The following documents is needed to customs clear the goods obtaining preferential duties:- Invoice with low value EEA declaration. Or Invoice & Movement Certificate "EUR 1" Customs clearance of shipments from countries without preferential duties needs an Invoice only. However, some commodity groups are governed by import restrictions and may need additional documentation. Nor-Cargo Kirkenes have warehouse facilities for both indoor and outdoor storage. In addition refrigerated storage may be provided. Bonded warehousing is available for most kind of cargoes. Based on customer needs repackaging, palletising, strapping and other services are done for both domestic and international shipments. If required by our customers, our warehouses can be manned 24 hours, seven days a week.
