The 5th North Sea Conference took place in Bergen, Norway on 20-21 March 2002. The secretariat for the 5th North Sea Conference in the Norwegian Ministry of the Environment is now closed. This website will not be updated after 23. Dec. 2002. The Ministers at the 5th North Sea Conference welcomed the offer from Sweden to host a ministerial meeting by 2006 at the latest. This meeting will focus on the environmental impacts of shipping and environmental consequences of fisheries. The Committee of North Sea Senior Officials (CONSSO) will serve as a contact network and facilitate the preparations for the ministerial meeting.
