ECASBA - About Introduction to ECASBA ECASBA, the (European Community Association of Ship Brokers and Agents) was established in 1990 as the European sub-committee of FONASBA (The Federation of National Associations of Ship Brokers and Agents) , which is the worldwide organisation of shipbrokers and agents. The aim of ECASBA is to represent the common interests of ship agents and ship brokers towards the European Union. Currently ECASBA has members in all EU member states and in some accession countries. The Association executive, known as the Advisory Panel, is represented on the Executive Committee of FONASBA by the Chairman and Vice Chairman. The Secretariat of the association is currently based in London. ECASBA also has an office in Brussels through which allows the Advisory Panel to maintain close local contact with the European Union and Commission.
