Lauritzen Kosan was among the first ship owners to be ISO 9002 certified as far back as 1992. In addition, we gained ISM approval in 1996, ahead of many competitors and a full two years prior to mandatory implementation. Our ships fly under a number of internationally recognised flags and are regularly inspected to ensure they adhere to required standards. In addition, port authorities and our customers frequently carry out their own stringent surveys on our vessels. Being a frontrunner in safety and the environment means we ve had more time than most to review and refine the procedures and precautions we have in place. As part of these efforts, we have set up a Safety and Licence Committee. The committee is a forum for sharing information and defining best practise on a variety of safety-related issues.
