Danish Freight Forwarders Association -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Association Members NSAB 2000 (pdf) Home The Danish Freight Forwarders Association was founded on 31 December 1909. As of 1 January 2000 the Association had about 200 member companies representing about 10,000 employees and a gross annual turnover of more than DKK 22 bn. The Association s Secretariat operates from its Copenhagen-based premises and is divided into three regions comprising a total of nine local associations. The Danish Freight Forwarders Association is a professional body whose main purpose is to promote its members interests in relation to authorities, organisations and the press at both national and international level. The Association strives to develop and innovate the freight forwarding industry and assure the industry of reasonable competitive conditions. This goal is accomplished through information and training initiatives. The Association s Secretariat assists members in connection with specific issues of relevance to the forwarding industry, legal matters as well as courses offered by the Danish Freight Forwarders Training Academy. To qualify for membership of the Danish Freight Forwarders Association, a candidate must have a good reputation in the industry and carry on business in the form of a limited company and on a high ethical level. Besides, membership is only open to companies that offer their services in the free transport market and are adequately consolidated. As members of the Danish Freight Forwarders Association, the companies are obliged to observe the General Terms of the Nordic Association of Freight Forwarders (NSAB 2000) and to take out and maintain freight forwarders liability insurance. The members of the Association are automatically affiliated to the Nordic Association of Freight Forwarders. Membership of the Association also entails membership of the European Liaison Committee of Freight Forwarders, CLECAT, and of the international federation of freight forwarders associations, FIATA (F d ration Internationale des Associations de Transitaires et Assimiles).
