NAVIGO Shipmanagers has been a member of the Schulte Group since 1985 *Only vessels with five or more crewmembers taken into account How we can help your business grow? There is an increasing trend for ship owners to outsource ship management. Here's why: Variation in fleet size Inhouse solution: Managing more ships inhouse can mean selecting and growing your own personnel, implementing larger computer systems and looking for larger office space. These add to your administration overheads and costs. NAVIGO solution: Maintain and optimise the use of a core capacity and let the overflow or variation in workload - number of vessels - be handled by NAVIGO. Outsourcing ship management offers flexibility in resources and allows a shipping company to expand freely while the administrative burden is transferred to the manager. Greater control of operational costs Inhouse solution: Variation in size means variation in your operational costs. NAVIGO solution: By outsourcing, crew costs become fixed and any variation risks are transferred to the manager. NAVIGO also uses its buying power to keep the technical costs low, and all commissions and discounts are refunded to our clients Sharing experience Inhouse solution: A new type, or unfamiliar vessel can challenge your resources NAVIGO solution: NAVIGO and the Schulte Group have unparalleled knowledge and experience in the management of a wide variety of vessels and crew. We will exchange best practice with the ship owner, providing an opportunity for reduced operating costs and improved safety. Utilisation of management time Inhouse solution: (Organic) growth and complying with applicable laws and regulations require management time; time which could be used to focus on core activities such as business expansion. NAVIGO solution: NAVIGO shoulders these problems, releasing management time for the ship owner. Transfer of risk NAVIGO solution: Transfer operational risks to your ship manager. For crew management NAVIGO assures its high performance through contractual and financial incentives. Backed by the size of the Schulte Group, NAVIGO can offer competitive conditions: We give our clients the benefit of net expenese. So whether airline, marine insurer, yard or supplier, our clients' operating expenses are driven down by the volume of our business. Technical management The budgets agreed between ship owner and NAVIGO are always tight, particularly during depressed freight markets. Strict control and processes are developed by NAVIGO to stay within the budget without compromising on maintenance, safety or seaworthiness and always in accordance with: * Owner's requirements * Design requirements * Flag State and Class requirements * Charter Party requirements Detailed annual budgets, prepared prior to the end of each financial year, are submitted to owners. Monthly accounts and various reports are presented giving information on the vessels overall performance to date. NAVIGO in close contact with the ship owner will implement a continuous improvement programme aimed at reducing costs. Constant follow up by the designated Superintendent in charge during dry-docking keeps expenses in line with initial estimates. This unique policy allows: * Effective screening of seafarers * Access to a large pool of seafarers; the Group employs more than 7,900 ship staff, with a wide range of experience on all vessel types * The ability to create pools of well-trained and experienced seafarers for specific owners and vessel types We are carrying out all crew-related work and the client is left with a bare minimum of crew administration. Our crew management covers the complete spectrum of human resource management for a ship owner including screening, selecting, appointing, monitoring, taking into account any special requirements of the client. We strictly adhere to IMO, STCW 95, ISMA requirements and of course the manning stipulations of the vessel and the flag of registry. Our designated crew superintendents are responsible for the appraisal and extensive training (both in-house and external) of crewmembers improving the proficiency and safety on board. The crew superintendent in charge is also responsible for their welfare, day-to-day needs and general administration. NAVIGO offers crew management on a lumpsum basis. So the Client is free from all responsibilities and liabilities in respect of the requirements of these Codes.
